SERVPRO Storm Response

Our SERVPRO has been exploring the Storm Response Team avenue. We are in a flooding zone and have knowledge in how to accommodate such jobs.
Below are some flood tips and necessary actions that need to take place. After a flood, we want to have safety first.
These tips are for businesses and home owners.
- Account that all employees or family members are safe by establishing evacuation plans in advance. We can provide this plan for you! Call us to have an ERP. (919)-533-6776! We recommend that select individuals are able to keep a list of everyone in the home or business and also contact numbers.
- If water enters the building and evacuation becomes impossible, move to an upper floor, and wait for rescuers.
- Do NOT touch electrical equipment if you are wet or in water.
- Do not walk through moving water.
- Avoid floodwater. Water may be contaminated by oil, gasoline or raw sewage.
- Listen for news reports to learn if the community's water supply is safe to drink.
- Return only when it is safe.
- Secure the property.
- Contact local emergency officials.
- Secure main entrances to building.
- Stabilize the property.
- Open the basement or low-level windows to equalize water pressure on the building's foundation and walls.
- Begin water damage mitigation steps only if local emergency officials deem the structure safe to enter.
- Notify your insurance agent or risk manager to determine insurance policy guidelines and steps to take.
- Throw away all foods that have come into contact with flood waters.
- If your home has a crawlspace, be aware excess moisture in this area can often foster mold growth.
